Detailed Product Description of the vStar DMA3000T&R
The
vStar DMA3000T&R system transmits audio and video signals
from the DMA3000-T unit to the DMA3000-R unit, over Amedia's
proprietary 5 GHz wireless network, by encoding the signals
according to MPEG standards. The T unit can be embedded in a
Video Source device (DVD, VCR, PVR, STB, or PC). The R unit
can be embedded in a Video Display device (TV, flat panel or
video monitors).
The IR function enables the user to control the Video Source
devices from a remote TV. The user can use the original remote
control of the video source devices (such as DVD) by pointing
the remote control at an IR receiver located at the R unit.
The IR signals are conveyed by the wireless network to the T
unit. Discrete I/O ports can interface to LEDs and buttons.
Benefits:
- Plug and play with most of the A/V devices. No hassle
for software and network setting
- Certified by FCC (FCC ID: U8B-DMA3-1L) and Industry
Canada (IC: 7105A-DMA31L)
- Integrated on-board antennas
- Production ready

Figure 1. WiVi™ Technology vs. Standards

Figure 1 illustrates the position of WiVi™ technology
versus WLAN and WPAN standards. It is worth pointing out that
WiVi™ technology sharing same baselines with the unpcoming
standards of 802.11n and UWB leaves Amedia Networks quick
paths to migrate the proprietary technology toward
standardization.
Figure 2. Field Test in Home Environment

Figure 2 illustrates the performance of WiVi™ technology in
a typical residential home environment: a two-story, stucco
construction, approximately 2,600 square-foot house with lots
of home appliances and furniture. WiVi™ technology enables a
single network to cover the entire 2-story home with 25 Mbps
HDTV stream. Even in the brick and masonry garage, 20 Mbps
HDTV stream can be easily maintained.
Figure 3. Field Test in Enterprise Environment

Figure 3 illustrates the performance of WiVi™
technology in a typical enterprise environment: an
approximately 10,000 square-foot office and lab space with
heavy multipath and lots of moving objects and people. The
link coverage is quite remarkable in that 20 Mbps HDTV
stream is deliverable to most of the locations in this
office/lab space except for two collection points that are
shadowed by the elevator well. Even in this area, 15 Mbps
SDTV stream can be easily maintained.
